The Shire of Thornwold warmly welcomes you to Sir Edward's Tournament!

 MAY 5-7

A hearty greeting from your friends in the Shire of Thornwold! Spring is coming and our shire is busy making ready the fields for one of the oldest and most beloved events in An Tir: Sir Eddie’s Tournament!

This year, we invite you to travel to our temperate climate and celebrate Spring with period-style festivities, exciting championship tournaments, a marketplace full of merchants, and a new addition: The Rampant Miffin -- a tavern with day food that will delight your taste buds and give you the energy you need to stay all day.

Here’s a few highlights, with more details to come.

Championship Tournaments:

  • Heavy Holmgang Style Tournament
  • Rapier Tournament
  • Archery Tournament
  • Thrown Weapon’s Tournament
  • Arts and Sciences Tournament - craft a bunny in any medium

All winners will receive a prize and have the honor of representing the Shire of Thornwold this year as our Champion.

    Activities:

  • Friday Night Soup and Movie Night
  • Dancing around the MayPole
  • Youth and Family Activities Cooking Class
  • Iron Scribe Competition
  • Arts Kraft Koral -- a large tent with plenty of space to work on A&S activities
  • Flash Class - Have a class you want to teach? Maybe you are working on a class and what to try it out before committing at a larger event: We have space available and will have sign ups on site in the Kraft Koral.
  • Fireside Bardic Circle
  • Largesse Swap: Bring 12, take 3 - the rest will be split with the Shire and the Kingdom
  • Silent Auction
  • Dessert Auction

    Camping:

Always day tripped Eddies? Try camping with us this year! Friday night we will have a few pots of warm soup and bread available by donation so no matter what time you arrive, you will have something warm to fill your belly with as you setup camp. As day turns to night, we will gather in the large pavillion for a double-feature movie night.
With a hearty day food menu planned at the Rampant Miffin Tavern and lots of tasty desserts to bid on at the Dessert Auction, you won’t need to plan/pack much food. More details to come as we finalize menus.
The site owner has requested that only service animals be in attendance this year.

    New Site:

This year we are pleased to announce that the event will be located at a new site - The Lavender House. We are really excited about the large open space, 40x80 pavillion, and wooden ceremony/court area. There is plenty of room for your encampment and RV parking (boondocking only).
The Lavender House is located in Lynden, WA and just minutes from town if you have any last minute needs (ah hem, or coffee).

    Site Fees::

Adults: $20 ($5 discount for SCA members)
Youths - age 17 and under are free

Camping Fee: $5 per sleeping tent, dayshades/pavilions excluded
